Privacy Policy
This policy explains what we collect, how your photos are processed, and how long we keep them. Plain language, no surprises.
What we collect
- Account info: your email address and username.
- Photos you upload and the restored results we generate from them.
- Usage data: your credit balance and a record of restorations (which model, when, cost).
- Payment info: when paid credits go live, payments are handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We never see or store your full card number.
How your photos are processed
To restore a photo, we send the image to our AI provider, OpenRouter, which routes it to the underlying model provider you select (currently Google, OpenAI, Black Forest Labs, ByteDance, or Sourceful). Those providers process the image to produce the restored result, under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not use your photos to train our own models.
Restored images produced by some AI models carry an invisible provenance watermark (for example Google's SynthID) indicating they were AI-generated or AI-edited.
Because these AI providers operate globally, your photo may be processed on servers outside your own country. Each provider handles it under its own terms and privacy policy.
Child-safety and abuse checks
Uploaded and restored images may be processed by automated safety and abuse-prevention systems operated by us or by our infrastructure, security, AI, and storage providers. Those checks may include matching against databases or fingerprints of known child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and other signals used to detect illegal or abusive content.
If we or our providers become aware of apparent CSAM, child exploitation, or other illegal abuse material, we may block the upload or result, suspend the account, preserve limited information needed for a report, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's CyberTipline or to law enforcement as required or permitted by law. These safety checks are not advertising, are not AI training, and are not used to build a public image database.
How long we keep your photos
Your uploads and results are temporary:
- Originals you upload are automatically deleted within about 1 hour.
- Restored results are kept for about 24 hours so you can download them, then automatically deleted.
- Thumbnails: we keep one small 128×128 thumbnail of each restoration in your private account history so you can recognize past restorations. Thumbnails are visible only to you, never shared or used for anything else, and are deleted when your account is deleted.
We don't keep your full photos long-term, and we don't sell them or share them with anyone other than the AI providers needed to perform the restoration.
Your account record (email, username, credit balance, and restoration history) is kept while your account is open and deleted when you close it. Payment records needed for tax and accounting are retained by us, and by Stripe, for as long as the law requires.
Cookies
We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Security
Connections are encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as salted, hashed values, never in plain text. Uploaded files are stored outside the public web and served only to your own account.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing [email protected]. Because photos auto-expire, most uploaded content is already removed within a day. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, export, or restrict the processing of your personal data; email the same address and we'll help you exercise it.
Children
fixmypics.ai is not intended for children under 18, and uploading sexual content involving minors is strictly prohibited (see our Terms).
